Our ambition

We intend to instill in each pupil a life-long love of learning as well as openness to fresh ideas and innovative ways of thinking.Through enthusiastic teaching and excellent resources, pupils are well prepared not only for the demands of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations, but also for a bright and fulfilling future. The 8-4-4 Curriculum is our starting point, but in each subject, work is planned to stimulate and challenge. We track each pupil's progress carefully so that the pace of the work suits the individual, ensuring that all fulfill their potential. CBC

As a school we embraced and are implementing the new curriculum. The vision of CBC is to prepare engaged,empowered and ethical citizens.The mission of CBC is nurturing every learner's potential. We have carried out sensitization forums to the parents/guardians in lower and pre-school sections.Under the new curriculum,pupils should be independent, confident, cooperative and inspired.Our staff has undergone training and they are well equipped with the necessary skills to implement the CBC using the Inquiry Based learning approach. The principles of Basic Education Curriculum Framework are-Opportunity, Excellence, Diversity,Inclusion, Parental Empowerment and Engagement, Community Service Learning and Differentiated Curriculum and Learning.

Junior School

Focus Academy Junior school is offering CBC for Grade 7-9. Our teachng model is founded on the philosophy that there is a potential in every learner that ought to be unlocked. Learners are gifted differently,each has a field where their strengths lie. Our boarding facility,optional,is available for both boys and girls.

Computer Lessons
Computer Lessons
Computer Lessons

Technology is taking over the world and it is now necessary to prepare and equip our children properly. Computer lessons let students develop skills that will help them make the most of adult life.

Focus Academy introduced Computer Lessons in May, 2012. Our pupils start by learning Keyboard Skills and the Windows User Interface. Later they advance to Word Processing after they have mastered use of the mouse and typing without looking at their fingers. Finally, they get introduced to Spreadsheets, Msingi Pack and Elimu Pepe in class 6.

Chess

Teaching children to swim and letting them swim regularly is beneficial to both their health and safety.

Swimming is an excellent cardiovascular workout that improves strength, promotes heart & lung length and improves strength and flexibility.Experience in the water is also valuable and greatly reduces the risk of water related emergencies.Focus Academy offers swimming as an extra-curricular activity and takes part in inter-school competitions. Our students do well and have won a number of gold medals
